The tree/shrub in my far-away dream is Protea obtusifolia (Bredasdorpsuikerbos in African). The Proteaceae genus was named by Linnaeus after the Greek god Proteus. The genus is so varied that Proteus, who could change his form at will, was invoked as namesake.
