Bauhinia monandra.
Both these differently colored flowers are on the same tree!
Bauhinias (Orchid Trees) have a characteristic butterfly shaped leaf (perfect for those of us with butterfly dogs).

The orchids are OUTSTANDING!!! I love what you do with your photos. You should make postcards out of them and sell them on Etsy! They are FABULOUS! Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteThe Bauhinia Flowers are beautiful. How interesting to have two different coloured flowers on the same tree. I have Bauhinias in the garden a snow white one and a very dark pink. Love them. Lovely flower on the Astrophytum, do you call it also "Bishopshat"?
ReplyDeleteAll your pictures are admirable and always like the captions. Great post.
I agree with Dirt Princess, you have such incredible photos, you should sell them. They are just beautiful and oh, that Angelina, is such a sweetheart. Wishing you a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, the leaves are such a nice shape too.
ReplyDeleteAngelina is looking cute as usual!
Its like an exotic dream to me :) I would love to plant more "tropical" fruits and flowers like those!
ReplyDeleteI love the butterfly leaves to go with the butterfly dog!
ReplyDelete'Van Gogh' is wonderful.
Beautiful images, I love the reptile, Van Gogh and Four :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers/photos as usual! I actually have one of the Adenium obesum. It went dormant over the winter and lost almost every leaf, but it is coming back to life and has had a flower already. I think it's a really interesting plant due to the large trunk. I'm sure in Bermuda they are the size of trees, but mine is just a house plant!
ReplyDeleteThat is 'Van Gogh' wow! You are making me to recall some of Van Gogh's beautiful works. I have a big jigsaw puzzle of 'The sower' framed and hung on my wall. And on a another wall a small canvas print of the famous 'Sunflowers'. This van gogh flower is as beautiful and the background effect does look like a painting :-D Btw, the orchid tree, both Bauhinia monandra flowers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI envy the flowers You can photo around...
ReplyDeleteI can tell from your profile photo that you love dogs too. You little dog is so cute. Is he yours? Thanks for your supportive comment about poor Kevin.
ReplyDeleteI miss the tropical plants I had in Singapore. We call Adenium obesum desert rose, and I had so many pots of them.
I guess Bermuda is quite like Singapore.

ReplyDeleteHow's the corn getting on ? mine is getting planted on Monday, ready or not as I am trying to get everything planted and out of the greenhouse, so I have more room for my aubergines, tomatoes and cucumbers to grow in there. Have a lovely week-end. :)
