When I should be going forward, I move backward.
Is this advisable?
No. And yet, the reverse is also true.
The obdurate crime is stasis?
It is the only offense worthy of punishment.
Will you speak in aphorisms from now on?
The obvious answer is no. But beware of obvious answers.
Prospero interviews Prospero (what a train wreck that is).
Great pictures, wonderful suggestion, almost a train ghost!
ReplyDelete:-)
p.s.
Read Cioran is certainly a remedy ...
It's kind of fun reading the interview! I wonder what I would say if I interview myself :-)..Great pic!
ReplyDeleteIf I've not wishing you a great and wonderful New Year, then I'm saying it now, Prospero!
Prospero!
ReplyDeletemy magician!
i am so happy!
Hi there, nice to see you! Interesting interview and image. I like to question thoughts and see how the opposite can be true.
ReplyDeleteAre those cranes on your photo? They look wonderfully mysterious.
ReplyDelete(Your first sentence reminds me of trying to drive up the slope here in the snow!)
Glad to have you back, Prospero, and wishing you a brilliant New Year!
Happy New Year Prospero!
ReplyDeleteI talk to myself in thoughts ;-) Like what to take for lunch or dinner - simple questions. But your interview dialogue is rather profound for me.
Phoenix - it is a contraption to hoist ships for repair (I'm sure it has some clever name).
ReplyDeleteBut for me, it is the strings of a marionette being controlled from above. The marionette is moving - but it is just a show, an illusion. It is really in a deep state of lethargy.
Fantastic shot !! Beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteYour words are as interesting as your photo...bravo!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the interview - too funny!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the picture I thought of some kind of stringed instrument ... but I like the marionette as well.
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteNice one!
Regards.
Finally back. Some have been missing You...quite many, not a few.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is wonderful--I see strings on a harp, powerful cables capable of holding a bridge in sway--yet those are not what is pictured at all.
ReplyDeleteThe rythym and beauty of this photo are striking.
I want to add that I pondered this one for awhile--I wondered if stability is truly best when sandwiched between two opposite forces? If a person becomes unmoved and unyielding, could it be that very rigidity could cause that person's heart to break?
ReplyDeleteIt is my experience nothing is as it seems in this world. We only see in part.
Just like your wonderful photo.
Sometimes it's necessary to step backwards, to see where we are coming from. ! your photo is as mysterious as yourself Prospero ! welcome back. doc :)
ReplyDeletemaravillosa, feliz año, abrazos
ReplyDeleteA battle of minds. Marvellous.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering where you were :) Beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteProspero, I like the interview and the image.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2010!
Great interview

Hugs for Angelina from Kareltje =^.^=
It is good to see you back. I am so glad to see both of you, Angelina and you. As you see we have lots of snow and it is blowing like crazy. Peeked out and it is white out conditions and our thermometer says 20 below zero this morning, Spunky missed Angelina.
ReplyDeleteYou are funny as well as talented~
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again. I wish you the same. I am trying my hand at more portraits lately, inspired by many of your recent posts; however, I'm having trouble finding willing subjects. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLoved the picture and whole idea you put forth.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI like the interview, especially the lat answer, and the photo of course:)
