  1. Solitude is something I don't get much of around here :) I know for some it's a sad thing, for me it's something I look forward to.
I love that picture looking down the stairs and Angelina looks as sweet as ever.

  2. The staircase image is awesome. This trippy post has me wondering if there really is such a thing as solitude.

  3. Your photos leave me speechless!! Like Catherine, I long for solitude, sometimes. All alone, reading a book as seen in your photos....

  4. An aquarium? The staircase is enticing. It is a good reminder for me to have the necessary solitude time :-)

Oh yes, I am fascinated by Nepenthes and thinking about those pretty sundews too. I noticed my older sarracenia pitchers, the sides (perimeter) of the hood dried up. Also, some roots have grown out at bottom of the pot. So I placed a plate of water at below of the pot. Learning the behaviour of one plant is another fascinating thing altogether. Have a great weekend!

  5. Prospero, solitude is well depicted in this interesting sequence. Beautiful both the B&W images and the two dark colour pictures.

  12. I find myself bereft of words. Your work seems to have the capability to move not only my eyes, but my heart.

Though I do enjoy people, and spend a lot of time with them, I am a creature of solitude--so I feel these particular photos quite deeply.

    Thank you for sharing them

  18. I think one can greatly feel the spirituality of solitude in these images. Wonderful set! I love especially the last one. It conveys the character of aloneness best.

  19. i marvel at these pictures again and again (i would like to see your images bigger when i click on them, is that possible? please).

after surviving the first one, that green making me wonder whether my bones were not of jade, i became the silent double of that reading fog, suddenly immersed into Sokurov's Oriental Elegy... i don't know how you did these pictures.
and then... then i lost my sense of time and space, longing to be the light enfolding the reading dream figure in the last one.

i know your images tell tales of solitude, yet, as you see, they keep me captive and thus, in this peculiar encounter of visible, invisible and gaze, solitude is expressed more firmly and annihilated at the same time.

  20. these pictures are sad, the solitude they portray to me is a kind of loneliness, a withdrawn and melancholy solitude. perhaps an autumnal, pre-winter solitude? But you have no winter I think?

  21. I have had my share of that today, and I loved it! :) Beautiful and emotional photos.

  22. "i don't know how you did these pictures" - i should have said "took", i believe :-)
but this mistake expresses my astonishment much better: the images don't seem to be "taken", but rather invented by you.

  23. You portray the concepts so well.
    Thought provoking shots.

  24. Exotic and mysticly loaded. Is it a tea box or did you travel to China? The staircase is one of the most stunning images I've seen recently!
