The war on grass continues.

Another battle field in the war on grass: no more grass, no more weed-eater, no more tears. The problem with grass is its annoying habit of growing when watered (some atavistic trait, no doubt).

The purple pall comes from a plant called Rhoeo spathacea. It never requires trimming and withstands drought better than a two hump camel.

The urchin likes to cross the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), under strict supervision, perhaps to look at the pirahna below (goldfish, but it never fooled anyone).

  1. I like your blog. I'm not familiar with Rhoeo spathacea - it looks interesting.

    The urchin sounds fun!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  3. Nice. It is tempting to get rid of grass--depending on your property--and that area in your picture looks steep--but as for me, I'm missing the green stuff right now. Then again, I'm on a horse property and grass is like green gold. ;)
