I want to marry a lighthouse keeper (improbable #5)

  1. You want to marry a Keeper of the Light. And this photo is lovely. Like a castle filled with light. Safety, steadfast, beautiful.

  2. I'd be lonely in a lighthouse, and the sea would scare me, too much water for me. But the photo is lovely.
Thanks for the comment on my blog, Like you I am going to sow more seeds directly into the ground this year, it's too much trouble looking after seedlings indoors, and now I have to transplant them all !! I would love to see how you do with yours. Doc xxx

  7. I am not sure your little dog would like being surrounded by water. I certainly would not like it and Spunky would sink with his girth. By the way he has lost 2 pounds!!! His tooth is holding its own and not bothering him any more.

  8. I've always thought living in a lighthouse would be fascinating! I'd love to see the ocean and the ships going by. The views from the tops of them are amazing although I've always been a little nervous of those windy stairs. I love your picture today!

  9. The lighthouse as a solitary beacon of light is stunning. Yes, I think I would marry a "Keeper of the Light" as well.

  14. Good morning Prospero, I saw that you posted the moon, I did the same on "this and that" whithout knowing that you had a moon post. It is a interesting subject and sung about in a romantic and lyric way.
Prospero I have to tell you, you better hurry with your marriage proposal, because there won't be many light house keepers around for much longer! LOL.
The lighthouse really looks romantic and I can understand your wish!

  15. Titania:

I was attracted by your moon (the moon has that effect on me). - It is but a sublime affectation to be ruled by the moon!

Our current lighthouse keeper is a lady. I had the pleasure to meet her several years ago, on duty, but lately - she has been noticeably absent. I think that "lighthouse keeper" is more of an honorary title nowadays. An honest profession - replaced by the inveterate charm of fiber optics.

And no, I do not particularly want to "marry" a lighthouse keeper. The title comes from a song used in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, a striking dystopia.
